Image taken on the famed Paseo del Prado in La Habana...
This guy doesn't even own a matching pair of shoes! A sandal and a shoe...the socks don't match...He's not homeless...this is what he has.
Cuba! A voice for a people, through photographs and words a story of "los Cubanos". This photographer's heart is in Cuba in much the same way as the heart of Henri Cartier Bresson is in Paris, or Richard Avedon’s in New York.

How can Raul continue to pretend communism works and the people pretend that someday it might?
After so many years of living this lie...maybe one begins to believe it. Maybe his life is so good that he doesn't want it to change. The Cubans don't really pretend...it's a waiting game and who waits the longest wins.
Too sad Roy, this is his reality, you are right when you say it's all a waiting game
Cubans on the island have tremendous patience...they are always waiting in line for...the bus, the store, "la botella", ice cream at La Coppelia and they wait for life to get better.
